Michael Baume BA(Econ) FCA FFA FIAB FIB MBIM QFA

Michael currently combines his background as a former senior executive in financial services with his skills in risk management and technology to develop a Cybercrime assurance service through Risk Management International.
He also works as a Project Leader for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as well as his role as Chairman of the Financial Services Club Ireland.
An alumnus of Harvard Business School and a chartered accountant, he was a founder of the Irish Banking Federation High Tech Crime Forum set up to manage threats to on line banking from Cyber Criminals.  He has been closely involved in working with law enforcement and in developing leading edge information security defense techniques.
As a former Group Chief Information Officer for AIB, he combines strategic perspectives with practical experience at international level.

Tony retired from An Garda Síochána (Irish Police Force) holding rank of Assisting Commissioner having had at various times command responsibility for the northern eastern and Dublin metropolitan regions. In his last posting he was in charge of the national units which included, The National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI), Garda Bureau Fraud Investigation (GBFI) and the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB).

In the course of his career he was involved in major investigations into Homicide, Drug Trafficking and the activities of Organized Crime.

 

 John Smyth

 A professional corporate governance specialist with extensive experience in Ireland, UK and Europe. He is a Chartered Director, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators and the Chartered Institute of Bankers UK and holds post graduate diplomas in corporate governance and company direction. A former Chief Executive of First National Building Society / First Active plc he is a director of various companies including Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurances Ltd and Meningitis Trust Ireland. He has led  various industry associations and professional bodies in Ireland and was a founding Council member of  both the Ombudsman Scheme for the Credit Institutions in Ireland and the Management Committee of the Institute of Directors Centre for Corporate Governance at University College Dublin. He was Chairman of the Consultative Committee which produced a Code of Practice for Corporate Governance Assessment in Ireland in March 2010.
